Our Mission
To inspire creativity, gather community spirit, to educate and celebrate visual arts. To accomplish this, SWRMA will preserve and exhibit a permanent fine art collection, show contemporary exhibitions, host special juried exhibitions and provide educational opportunities through the Visual Arts.

DEVELOPING AN ARCHITECTURAL SPACE
The Board of Directors of SWRMA and Art Center invite
you to join in the development of an architectural space
for our museum. This space will encompass our growing art
collection, curated exhibitions, lectures, tours, films, social
events, art making, research, as well as simple enjoyment.

The Southwest Museum of Art and Art Center
is founded on the love of art and recognition of what art can do
for individuals, families and communities.
A museum is needed for the collection so it can be enjoyed by thepublic.
We ask you to visualize the benefit to yourselves,
your children, grandchildren and guests.
DEVELOPING AN ARCHITECTURAL SPACE
The Museum’s emphasis in its permanent collection is American Art from 1850 to contemporary times. Invitational exhibitions may include art of other cultures and times. Types of art already in the permanent collection include: bronze sculptures, paintings, original prints and drawings, photographs and contemporary ceramics.
Having several galleries within the Museum will allow for a new curated exhibition to appear each month. Making a visit to SWRMA and Art Center is always exciting, with a chance to view artworks that have become old friends.
C.M. FLANDERS ART RESEARCH LIBRARY
A unique department among art museums, the Southwest Regional Museum of Art and Art Center will offer the C.W. Flanders Art Research Library, open to use by the public within the museum. The Library catalog is available online.
